Industrial Blanketing

Blanketing is the process and practice of covering the surface of a stored commodity with a gas.

Blanketing is the process and practice of covering the surface of a stored commodity with a gas.

If that commodity is volatile or toxic, industrial blanketing can prevent it from harming workers, equipment and the environment.

In most cases the blanketing gas is nitrogen which is used as a protective atmosphere in storage tanks and vessels containing flammable liquids or solids to prevent fire or explosion.

Industrial Blanketing with nitrogen is a safe and dependable method for constantly maintaining a protective layer of gas on top of the substance. Humid air in the headspace is replaced by nitrogen. A precise valve control system ensures that as the tank is filled or emptied, the nitrogen content is automatically compensated to maintain the protective blanket. The result is safety, reliability and protection from degradation through oxidation.

For most chemical substances it is possible to calculate exactly what the nitrogen purity (or maximum oxygen concentration) should be in order to prevent oxidation.

My experience of working with AirPro has been a very positive one. AirPro have been in situ since the start of our expansion plans, the AirPro Nitrogen Generator we installed has been very reliable over the years.

I have found AirPro to be very knowledgeable, responsive and competitive.
