Nitrogen Filled Tyres

Nitrogen Tyre Filling

Airpro Nitrogen Generators will produce nitrogen for filling tyres on site, ensuring their is always a constant supply available allowing your vehicles to always be on the move.

Filling

The air we breathe consists largely of nitrogen, oxygen and water vapour. Most tyres are filled with a compressed version of this air, however the oxygen and water have a negative impact on tyres.

Oxygen and water in tyres adversely affects:
  • Handling
  • Fuel Efficiency
  • Tyre Life
  • Safety

The solution is to inflate your tyres with a high concentration of nitrogen. Airpro Nitrogen Generators will produce nitrogen for filling tyres on site, ensuring a constant supply available allowing your vehicles to always be on the move.

The tyre is like a membrance and oxygen permeates faster through the membrane wall compared to nitrogen. The oxygen will gradually permeate causing a deflation of your tyre which will not keep the optimum pressure it was designed for. The reason for using nitrogen is creating equal partial pressure.

Because of the difference in partial pressure the oxygen is forced to permeate through the tyre wall. Creating a partial pressure inside the tyre that is equal to the partial pressure outside of the tyre takes away the driving force that drives the oxygen out of the tyre. With 6.5% oxygen in the tyre, there is equal partial pressure and the oxygen will not be forced out of the tyre.

Nitrogen Tyre Filling will decrease the risk of under-inflation and will keep the pressure in the tyre more constant. Lack of oxygen in the tyre prevents deflation for the tyre ensuring stability of the pressure in the tyre.

AirPro Nitrogen Generators provide the most economic, easy and environmental friendly solution.

Advantages

Advantages of Nitrogen Tyre Filling:
  • Increased fuel efficiency, properly inflated tires provide a 3.3% increase in miles/gallon

  • Reduced CO2 emission

  • Maintain proper inflation pressure longer. Tires inflated with compressed air lose 2 psi/month.It takes up to 6 months or more for the same loss with nitrogen.

  • Increased tyre life due to more stable tyre pressure. By maintaining proper inflation pressure and minimizing tire aging, tire life improves by up to 25%

  • Increased safety as result of more reliable tyre pressure, lower tyre temperature, improved grip and handling

  • Increased rim life because nitrogen is completely dry it eliminates condensation and oxidation of the rim
